Well, in the end we both decided that the jeep in Javea was a model to early and a bit overpriced compared to others around, although of course they are not in Javea, in fact all over Europe! Would prefer an automatic as well. Still, have 3 months to go so will keep looking as there is no pressure just yet. There is a good website called my-lhd.co.uk for LHD vehicles from all over Europe with plenty of Jeep Wranglers for sale. Many of them are not in Spain, but can be shipped for about 550 pounds. Some have a temporary French registration and assistance is offered to register in the preferred country , but I don’t know how efficient this is. I guess the biggest issue is potentially buying a car unseen … eek!
Eventually caught up with Helen on Facetime this morning. We are housesitting for Helen in Gaillac, France for the last 2 weeks of April. Helen is a lovely girl and in between running a family and restoring their French home, is also trying to set up a garden design business and consultancy. She has planted award winning gardens at Chelsea Flower Show and worked closely with Graham Gough at Marchants Hardy Plants learning propagation for over three years. Helen has ten year’s experience as a landscaper and now concentrates on design, consultancy and writing. As an aside, her husband is currently Head Gardener at a private estate in the UK. Look her up at www.helenmedlycott.com.
